Dear friends of tableware,

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of meeting some wonderful people who share my passion for color, creativity and the art of the table. You’ve asked me countless questions, from the most practical to the most personal, and I’m here to answer them. Today, I’ve decided to share some of the questions I receive most frequently. Don’t hesitate to find out more about me and my world!

1. How did you become passionate about tableware?

Well, it all started when I was little. My parents would spend hours setting up tables for our family dinners and their friends. My father, a great lover of decoration and architecture, had shelves full of decorative objects and table textiles, organized by travel theme (Africa, India, Italy…). My passion for color and atmosphere grew out of these precious moments.

2. Where do you get your ideas for unique table settings?

I find inspiration everywhere, whether it’s browsing flea markets, traveling the world or simply wandering through nature. It’s amazing to see how the simplest elements can become beautiful settings.

3. What’s your favorite color palette?

Oh, it’s hard to say, I’m in love with all colors! But if I had to pick one, it would be raspberry pink. It evokes so many emotions and memories.

4. Do you have any advice on how to set the table for a special dinner party?

The key is to have fun and let your creativity run wild. Don’t be afraid to experiment with colors and textures. Mix antiques with modern pieces, and above all, make it feel like you.

5. What’s your own favorite set of dishes?

I have a small collection of mismatched, very colorful, hand-painted porcelain plates that I love. My father gave them to me when I moved from Paris to Brussels. These plates are like eating on art!

6. What are your future plans for “Les Tables de Joséphine”?

We have so many exciting things in the pipeline! The first LTDJ showroom opening in December 2023, private events I’m planning to meet and exchange with you, collaborations with other tableware enthusiasts, and we’re even working on an online boutique so you can create your rental product wish lists for your upcoming events.

7. How do you choose the items you rent out in your showroom?

I always favor objects that tell a story. I choose them for their beauty, quality, and uniqueness. I want every item we rent to be a piece you’ll treasure.

8. What’s your favorite piece of table decor that you’ve found over the years?

It’s hard to choose, but there’s this particular piece I found at a Brussels flea market. It’s a candleholder, covered in colorful glass balls. A real work of art. It adds a touch of originality to any table.

9. How can I take part in one of your creative workshops?

All you have to do is keep an eye on our website and social networks to find out about upcoming workshops. It’s also possible to book a private workshop (min 5 people) at the showroom by email and customize its theme.

10. What advice would you give to someone who wants to start collecting tableware and creating table settings?

My advice would be to follow your heart. Collect what you love and create settings that reflect your personality. That’s what makes every table setting special and memorable.

I hope these answers have helped you get to know me better and understand my passion for tableware. Please don’t hesitate to ask more questions, and I’ll be delighted to answer them.

Thank you for your loyal support,

Joséphine
